The workshop content for Your Sacred Journey builds sequentially upon previous teachings, including those from Parenting 101 , while allowing for flexibility in integrating cultural teachings, spiritual connections, and family ties according to the agency's preferences.
Throughout the program, participants engage in a series of activities designed to foster personal growth and development. The workshop begins with opening ceremonies such as a circle, smudging, and prayer to set a respectful and reflective tone. Participants then explore their personal strengths and gifts and review their traumas and barriers. The focus shifts to enhancing clarity, setting intentions, and sharing insights within the group. Strategies for achieving balance and success are introduced, with opportunities for continued group reflection and individual work. The program emphasizes applying learned concepts to real-life scenarios, with practical exercises and integration activities. In the camp model, family activities are included to support bonding and interaction. The workshop concludes with reflections on progress, development of personal action plans, and a closing circle to consolidate the experience.

This setup allows for deepened reflection and organic processing of each topic. The timing and location of each session will be determined by the facilitator, with scheduling options accommodating the full day or week, particularly for the camp model A nourishment break should be incorporated at strategic points to support participant well-being.
Snacks and water are essential to help refuel and mitigate any emotional fatigue.
We recognize that trauma often creates cycles that can limit access to the healing and cultural support that individuals and families need. That's why our programs begin by establishing a sense of safety, helping participants identify behaviors shaped by past trauma and trauma responses. This foundational step offers participants a space to reflect on their lived experiences in a non-judgmental, supportive environment.
Since 2016, we have partnered with the Nuu-Chah-Nulth Tribal Council's Usma program to offer a five-day trauma workshop that integrates cultural teachings and elders' wisdom into the curriculum. This approach honors the unique cultural backgrounds of each community, allowing facilitators to personalize the content to meet the specific needs of the community members they serve. Parenting 101, along with Your Sacred Journey, is designed to be adaptable and respects the traditions and values of each community.
By weaving cultural teachings into the program, we empower participants to reconnect with their heritage, pass on traditional wisdom, and integrate healing practices into their families lives. The lessons are crafted not only to foster healing but to build cultural pride, resilience, and unity, strengthening participants and their communities.
The core goal of Parenting 101 and Your Sacred Journey is to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma by identifying both imposed and self-imposed limitations that may have been created through the trauma cycle. We provide participants with the knowledge and tools they need to support themselves, their children, and their families on their healing journey.
The program encourages individuals to reflect on their growth, celebrate breakthroughs, and revisit the material as they continue their personal and collective healing process. By offering this program in partnership with communities and agencies, we aim to support community members in staying strong in their culture, united as a family, and healthy in body, mind, and spirit.
